Job Description Summary
Drive and lead Operations planning and Order Management for Sanand factory with end-to-end responsibilities from ITO to OTR including supply chain planning. Lead to plan resources, coordinate and expedite the project / factory operations planning with full alignment with supply chain for ITO & OTR and also manage the customer relationship internally and externally. Accountable for steering the planning team and functional management and or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Job DescriptionRoles And ResponsibilitiesTeam Management
- Ensure prompt and effective communication with the team (on business developments, learning & experiences, directives, processes, operating plans & blueprints and general information)
- Ensure compliance to processes, tools, guidelines and business directives
- Regular touchpoints/ insights/ WD cycles, and performance management of the team members.
- Identify and ensure training and development required for team and drive GE behaviors
- Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy
- Create and maintain a team culture as a basis for successful and motivated teamwork and steer by examples
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May steer small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explain information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Convey performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
Planning Operations
- Prompt and effective communication with the team, cross functional stake holders

- Steer & Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at conclusions.

- Manage local & global projects for Sanand operations with end-to-end responsibilities to plan engineering, procurement & manufacturing activities for execution of new build, services & retrofit projects.
- A rdently participate in projects handover/kick-off meetings and monitor the progress during execution and until dispatch from factory to site and manage the coordination for queries resolution coming from site
- Develop processes to provide 100% materials visibility and progress tracking across the factory including services projects (this includes direct material, consumables/indirect materials and tracking of processes/tools/programs readiness)
- Along with delivering on operations / business goals/KPI’s , role includes incorporating best planning practices and tools (MTA/PMx, scheduling/MRP planning etc.) used in other global operations factory locations (Belfort/Beijing etc.) and work with Sanand broader team for benchmarking and rolling out of those practices/tools.
- Understand the concepts, methods and procedures of Sanand operations and upgrade/optimize it to enable smoother project execution
- Take initiatives and propose cost reductions, lead time reduction and a rdently participate in lean/kaizen events across factories
- Manage customer (internal / external) and supplier relationships in best interest of GE
- Work cross-functionally with factory operations team (engineering, shop ops, MMI, Process, quality, supply chain , programming/tooling etc.) for project execution
- Actively participate in daily management of factory operations (DMS) for respective area of responsibilities and raise flags/drive actions to meeting SQDCM.
- Lead and manage resource (manpower, machine, space & others) planning and de-bottlenecking and drive utilization of resources. Also work with master scheduler to anticipate the capacity/capability constraints coming up in near to medium and long term.
- Improvise processes and Work on consolidation and reporting of hours / project cost on weekly/monthly basis and drive actions to meet targets through DMS and weekly/monthly operating rigor
- Revenue and Inventory management process standardization for factory and drive inventory reduction actions with all stakeholders.
- Steer and drive Daily/weekly/monthly SQDC rigor with lean approach and develop team with problem solving mindset
Required Qualifications
- This role requires 10 to 15 years of experience in the Manufacturing & Materials Planning and Execution or Order management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience)
- Skilled over advance excel, MS Projects/Primavera/SAP, Good command over MS Office/Power point
