Educational Qualification:  

1. Project Scientist – B (Medical/Non-Medical) -Medical:- MBBS Degree with one-year of Research / Teaching experience. OR  MD in PSM/Clinical Subjects from a recognized University after MBBS/ Non-Medical:- 1st Class Master’s degree in Public Health/ Epidemiology from a recognized university with 2 years of research experience in a related field OR- 2nd Class Master’s degree in Public Health/ Epidemiology with Ph.D. from a recognized University OR- BDS degree with one-year research experience in a related field (MPH can be considered as relevant experience)Desirable Qualification and Experience:– Experience in working in public health research- Experience in working in implementation science research- Working knowledge in Computer applications- Able to speak in Tamil and Hindi
2. Project Lower Division Clerk –  12th Pass or equivalent from a recognized board . A speed test of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour through speed test on a computerDesirable Qualification and Experience:– Good written and oral communication skills in English.- Advanced computer knowledge (Data management, editing, and DTP)
3. Project Research Assistant (Field) –  Graduate in Sociology / Social Work / Social Sciences / Biostatistics / Life Sciences from a recognized University with three years of work experience in Public Health project / health care management from a recognized institution. (OR)  Master degree in Sociology / Social Work / Social Sciences / Biostatistics / Life Sciences / Public Health / Epidemiology from a recognized university
4. Project Scientist – B (Medical) – MBBS Degree with one year Research/Teaching experience. OR MD in PSM/Clinical Subjects from a recognized University after MBBS/Desirable Qualification and Experience: Experience in working in community-based projects/ health system projects.- Post-graduation in public health/community medicine.- Knowledge and experience in conducting systematic reviews.- Knowledge of Computer applications, statistical packages and GIS applications.- Experience in report writing and publications
5. Project Data Entry Operator (Grade- C) – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application/ IT/ Computer Science from a recognized institution/ university. And Speed test of not less than 8000 key depression per hour through speed test on computer.Desirable Qualification and Experience:  Typing certificate in English Lower / Higher issued byState Government.
6. Project Junior Nurse – High school or equivalent with science subject plus certificate course in ANM with 5 years’ experience in recognized institute/CentreDesirable Qualification and Experience:– Diploma in Nursing (GNM)- Experience in working field-based health research projects- Experience in conducting interviews.- Experience in clinical examination of the participants in community settings.- Experience in collecting blood samples from participants in community settings.- Proficiency in Tamil to interact with community.
7. Project Technician III (Lab) – 12th pass in science subjects and two years Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician (DMLT) or relevant subject. (OR) One year Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician (DMLT) plus one-year experience in a recognized organization or 2 years laboratory experience*. *B.Sc Degree (relevant subjects – Medical Lab technology, microbiology, and biochemistry) shall be treated as 3 years’ experience.Desirable Qualification and Experience:– Experience in collecting blood samples from participants in community settings,- Experience in processing and testing biological samples.- Working knowledge of Computer Applications.- Proficiency in Tamil to interact with community.
8. Project Technical Officer (MSW) – Graduate degree in Social Science/ Social work with five years’ work experience in public health project/health care management from a recognized institution (OR) Master’s degree in Social science/ social work from a recognized university.Desirable Qualification and Experience:– Experience in working in community-based health research projects and vaccine/clinical trials- Experience in designing and developing community awareness materials- Experience in planning, organizing and carrying out community awareness, engagement and outreach activities- Experience in translating the community awareness tools, consent documents and other documents from English to Tamil- Experience in liaising with various stakeholders in the community and government administration- Experience in conducting verbal autopsy- Proficiency in Tamil to interact with community.
9. Project Upper Division Clerk –– 12th Pass or equivalent from a recognized board with 5 years’ experience of administrative work (OR)- Graduate in any discipline with 2 years’ experience of administration work.  A speed test of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour through speed test on computerDesirable Qualification and Experience:– Good written and oral communication in Tamil to interact with community.- Advance computer knowledge (MS office tools and DTP)
10. Project Multi-Tasking Staff (Field/Lab) – High school or equivalent Desirable Qualification and Experience:– Experience in community based research.- Proficiency in Tamil to interact with community.
11. Project Multi-Tasking Staff ((Driving/ Dispatch Riding) – High school or equivalentDesirable Qualification and Experience:– Experience in driving.- Experience in community activities- Proficiency in Tamil to interact with community.
12. Project Scientist–C (Medical)* –  Post Graduate Degree (MD/DNB) in Community Medicine/ Community Health/ PSM after MBBS with one year experience (OR)  MBBS with MPH/ Postgraduate diploma in Community Medicine/ Community Health/ PSM after MBBS with two years’ experience (OR)  MBBS degree recognized by NMC with 4 years of public health related experience after obtaining MBBS DegreeDesirable Qualification and Experience:– Experience in scientific writing as evidenced by journal publications in peer – reviewed indexed journals- Experience in writing health research protocols, SOPs and managing health research projects- Trained in GCP- Working knowledge in data management / statistical software- Experience in teaching and training in health research areas

 The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. Salary Details:

1. Project Scientist – B (Medical/Non-Medical) – Medical: Rs. 61,000/- plus HRA per month Non-medical: Rs. 48,000/- plus HRA per month
2. Project Lower Division Clerk – Rs. 16,000/- Per month
3. Project Research Assistant (Field) – Rs. 31,000/- per month
4. Project Scientist – B (Medical) – Rs. 61,000/- plus HRA per month
5. Project Data Entry Operator (Grade- C) – Rs. 31,000/- per month
6. Project Junior Nurse – Rs. 18,000/- per month
7. Project Technician III (Lab) – Rs. 18,000/- Per month
8. Project Technical Officer (MSW) – Rs. 32,000/- per month
9. Project Upper Division Clerk – Rs. 17,000/- per month
10. Project Multi-Tasking Staff (Field/Lab) – Rs. 15,800/- Per month

ICMR-NIE may follow the following process to select the candidates.

2. Interview

How to apply:  

Interested and eligible candidates possessing the aforementioned Essential Qualification only may appear for Walk-in-Interview in the Institute with all Original and self-attested copies of all certificate/testimonials and valid identity proof (Voter ID card/ PAN Card/Driving License/Passport/Aadhar Card) and one passport size photograph. No candidate will be allowed to appear in the Interview without the Original Certificates.
