S-01 – Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry with Catalysis as the core area of research or M.E/M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph. D. in Science/ Chemical Sciences/ Chemistry or M.E/M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering with heterogeneous catalysis as the core area of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core subject area mentioned above. Having proficiency in heterogeneous catalysis, design and synthesis of solid catalysts and their characterization, catalytic reactions related to the preparation of fine chemicals & biofuels are highly desirable. Post-doctoral work experience and/or chemical/ pharmaceutical organization/ industry work experience is an added advantage.

S-02  Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry /Analytical Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical sciences with Mass Spectroscopy as the core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph.D. in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry/Pharma ceutical sciences with mass spectrometry as the core area of research, as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core subject area mentioned above. Having proficient practical experience in mass spectrometry analysis, high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS), hyphenated techniques (GC/MS, LC/MS etc.) for separation, characterization and quantification, method development and validation, and regulatory requirements. Postdoctoral work experience and/or chemical/ pharmaceuticals industry work experience is an added advantage.

S-03 – Ph.D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry / Polymer chemistry with polymeric / hybrid coating as the core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph. D. in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry with polymeric / hybrid coating as the core area of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core subject areas mentioned above. Having proficiency in design and development of Polymeric and hybrid Coatings, synthesis and structure property relationship of thermosetting polymers, water based polymeric materials and functional additives for coatings/paints are highly desirable. Postdoctoral and/or polymer/coating industry work experience is an added advantage.

S-04 – Ph. D. thesis submitted in Science/ Chemical Sciences/Chemistry /Phytochemistry with Natural Products Isolation and characterization as the core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph.D. in Science/ Chemical Sciences /Chemistry/ Phytochemistry with natural products isolation and characterization as the core subject area of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core subject area mentioned above. Having hands-on experience in extraction, isolation, and characterization of natural products. Use of modern analytical and spectroscopic techniques and interpretation of their spectroscopic data for structural characterization is highly desirable. Experience in handling sophisticated analytical instruments such as HPLC, LC-MS, Flash chromatography instruments and HPTLC are added advantage.

S-05 – Ph.D. Thesis Submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Polymer Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Science/ /Nano sciences with Formulations as the core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph.D. in Science/Chemical Sciences/ Polymer Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Science/ /Nano sciences with Formulations as the core area of research, as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core subject areas mentioned above. Having expertise in formulations preferably agrochemical formulations and specialize in the study both in the field and laboratory settings the formulation efficacies. Having post-doctoral work experience and/or Agri. Universities/Institutes/Pher omone/Entomology labs of Agri. industry is an added advantage

S-06  Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Biotechnology/Micro biology/ Environmental Sciences with Bioprocess Engineering as the core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/ Environmental Sciences with Bioprocess Engineering as the core area of research evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals/patents) in the core subject areas mentioned above. Having expertise in development and scaleup of bioprocess and/or biorefinery systems to valorise platform chemicals & biofuels is highly desirables. Having Postdoctoral work experience and/or Industrial experience is an added advantage.

S-07 – Ph.D. Thesis submitted in Sciences/Life sciences/Biological Sciences with immunology as core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph. D. degree awarded in Life Sciences/Biological Sciences with immunology/ as the core area of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals)/ patents in the core subject areas mentioned above. Candidate should possess an excellent track record in innovative basic and/or translational research related to immune diseases, immunity against pathogens and vaccine development. Have good knowledge of immunoassays development such as ELISA/Multiplex immunoassays for antibody/antigen, antibody preparation and general molecular biology skills. Experience of independently handling R&D programmes in the area of immunology will be preferred. Postdoctoral work experience and/or Industrial experience is an added advantage.

S-08 – Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry /Organic Chemistry with Lipid Science as core area of research or M.E/M. Tech. in Oil Technology/ Chemical Engineering/Chemic al Technology 

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph. D. in Science/Chemical Sciences/ Chemistry or M.E/M. Tech. in Oil Technology/ Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology with lipid science as core area of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications. Expertise in bioactive lipids and oleochemicals and exposure to the analysis of lipids using chromatographic and spectral techniques is desirable. Post-doctoral research work experience and/or chemical organization / industry in the core areas of oils & Fats processing and by-product utilization value addition is an added advantage.

S-09 – Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry with Enzyme Catalyzed Organic Synthesis/Biotransf ormations as the core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph. D. in Sciences/Chemical Sciences /Chemistry with Enzyme Catalyzed Organic Synthesis/Biotransformations as the core area of research evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core subject areas mentioned above. Having expertise in synthetic methods using Enzyme catalysis/bio-catalysis or process development preferably Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients is highly desirable. Having post-doctoral work experience and/or chemical/ pharmaceutical industry is an added advantage.

S-10  Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry with Flow Chemistry as the core area of research or M.E/M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph. D. in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry or M.E/M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering with Flow Chemistry as the core area of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core areas mentioned above. Having patents in the area in the core subject areas mentioned above is an added advantage. Having expertise in experimental and computational multiphase fluid dynamics relevant to chemical processes, including turbulence modeling, flow visualization, use of commercial flow modeling software is highly desirable. The candidates having experience in Product Development/ Technology Innovation/Applied Technology etc. will be preferred Having postdoctoral work experience and/or chemical/ pharmaceutical organization/ industry is an added advantage.

S-11 – Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Pharmace utical Sciences

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph. D. in Science/Chemical Sciences/Pharmaceutical Sciences. Along with Ph.D degree in the above said areas, Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or PG Diploma in project management/Business administration / Business management/ S&T Management with computer literacy is highly desirable.. Having experience in S&T Management / project Management/ Technology Transfer documentation/ business development/ERP is desirable. Candidates having Industry experience in Pharma sector will have added advantage. Candidate is required to have good writing and oral communication skills.

S-12 – Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Pharmace utical Sciences

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph. D. in Science/Chemical Sciences/Pharmaceutical Sciences. Along with Ph.D degree in the above said area, candidates having Masters/P.G Diploma in Intellectual property rights (IPR) / Patent laws with computer skills are highly desirable. Experience in Project Management, Technology Marketing, Capacity Building activities, Computer programming, Database Management/MIS /Patent with experience in claim structuring/IP ownership/ administration agreements and/or commercialization is desirable. Candidate needs to have good writing and oral communication skills.

S-13 – Ph.D Thesis submitted in physical/chemical sciences with theoretical/ computational chemistry as core area of research. or ME/MTech in Artificial Intelligence/Comput er science/Chemical engineering

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph.D in physical/chemical sciences with theoretical/ computational chemistry or ME/MTech in Artificial Intelligence/Computer science/Chemical engineering as core area of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core areas mentioned above. Having expertise in Chemical/bioprocess/ product modelling and design using AI/ML methods, data mining tools and in developing relevant AI/ML algorithms is highly desirable.

S-14 – Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry with Organofluorine /Fluorination Chemistry as the core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph.D. in Science/ Chemical Sciences /Chemistry with Organofluorine / fluorination chemistry as the core area of research evidenced by peer-reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core subject areas mentioned above. Having expertise in handling various fluorination reagents, design and synthesis of complex organofluorine molecules, vapor phase fluorination  to the preparation of specialty fluoro-chemicals and refrigerants and/or synthesis of fluoro amides and fluoro-phosphates, fluoro based pharmaceutical molecules are highly desirable. Post-doctoral work experience and/or chemical/ pharmaceutical industry work experience is an added advantage.

S-15 – Ph. D. Thesis submitted in Science/Chemical Sciences/Chemistry with Synthetic Organic Chemistry as the core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Ph. D. in Synthetic Organic chemistry with multi-step synthesis of new chemical entities /natural products/APIs be core area of research as evident by the Ph. D. thesis and peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals). Having expertise in synthetic methods using photochemistry and/or electro-chemistry is. Having postdoctoral work experience and/or chemical/ pharmaceutical industrial experience is an added advantage.

2. Senior Scientist –

SS-16 – Ph.D. in Sciences/Life sciences/Biological Sciences with Virology/Infectious diseases as core area of research and two years of post-Ph. D. research experience in the area mentioned above

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Post Ph.D research experience in Virology Infectious diseases associated, pathophysiology, Cell and / or animal models, as the core area of research, evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) is highly desirable. Having patents in the subject areas mentioned above is added advantage. Candidates with experience in independently handling R&D programmes in the area of infectious disease will be preferred

SS-17 – Ph. D in Engineering/Chemic al Engineering/Chemic al Technology with process development /sustainable production/purificat ion processes of chemicals as the core area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Post-Ph.D. Research Experience in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology with process development/sustainable production/purification processes of chemical compounds as the core area of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals). Having expertise in process development of Pharmaceutical or Agrochemical related intermediates or Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and scale up activities, equipment design and proficiency in technoeconomic and sustainability assessment is highly desirable. Having patents in the subject areas mentioned above is added advantage.

3. Principal Scientist –

PS-18  Ph. D. (Science/ Chemical Sciences/ Chemistry) with Synthetic Organic Chemistry / Process Chemistry as the core area of research and three years of post-Ph.D. research experience in the subject area mentioned above

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Having post-Ph.D. research experience in the field of design and development of novel multistep synthetic approaches towards natural products, new chemical entities, APIs & their intermediates and process development of APIs as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) and /or having patent(s) in the core research areas mentioned above is highly desirable. Having expertise in process development, process validation of APIs and knowledge regulatory affairs, filing DMF are highly desirable. Work Experience in chemical/pharmaceutical industry is an added advantage.

PS-19  Ph.D. in Sciences/Life Sciences /Pharmaceutical sciences/ Pharmacology with three years of Post PhD experience in the relevant area of research

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Having post-PhD research experience in pharmacology and/ or pharmaceutics as evidenced by publications in international peer reviewed SCI journals/ Patents) in the core areas mentioned above are highly desirable. Having expertise in handling various animal models and experimental pharmacology techniques covering, formulation development, Invivo efficacy models, toxicology and PK/PD studies are highly desirable

Age Limit: (As on 31.01.2023)

1. Scientist – 32 years
2. Senior Scientist – 37 years
3. Principal Scientist – 45 years

The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules.
