Core Job Responsibilities

Integrated S&OP- Planning

  • Drive the Integrated S& OP Monthly Process;
  • Analyze demand on a monthly basis and identify inconsistencies with forecasts and actual sales. Work closely with the Demand Planner to reduce inconsistencies in the forecast to prevent any negative impact on customer replenishment / customer service;
  • Create and maintain feasible 24 month replenishment- and inventory plan for all assigned families on a monthly basis;
  • In case of supply chain exceptions, work with supply chain peers to identify possible solutions/scenarios and support decision-making process by reporting and recommending preferred scenarios;
  • Meet inventory target as agreed in Financial Plan or Update;

Identify, reconcile and explain variances versus latest approved financial benchmark and previous plans.

Production & Inventory planning

  • On a Monthly/Weekly , transform S&OP plan into a feasible, detailed release plan on SKU-level, using prescribed tools for the Jhagadia manufacturing site, DHL-operation and local India TPM’s;
  • Capacity planning at Jhagadia / DHL & TPM;
  • Work closely with the Plant / QA for Finished Goods release;
  • Scheduling releases with local TPMs
  • Provide supply visibility to the ANI – Business Supply Chain Team at all times. In situations where the demand exceeds supply, discuss and align with the ANI – Business Supply Chain Team teams on the allocation of FG.
  • Proactively identify possible supply chain constraints through reviewing Stock situations; discuss and align with manufacturing and ANI – Business Supply Chain Team on any potential allocation of FG;
  • Monitor the inventory on hand (DOH ) and production plan obtained from global planning centers to proactively identify – Any supply issues / Constraints
  • On a monthly basis, by business day 5, identify, reconcile and report variances between actual inventories and planned inventories (S&OP and Financial Plan);

Inventory deployment and control

  • Work closely with central warehouse and the logistics/ distribution team to ensure timely execution of the FG Release;
  • Conduct periodic review of national stock spread data to minimize finished goods inventory, WIP Inventory and Excess/Obsolete Inventory;
  • On a monthly basis, by business day 5, identify and report on potential excess inventory, monitor shelf life all other inventory related issues

Business Excellence

  • Deploy effective business processes in line with Abbott Business Excellence standards;
  • Assure compliance with local and Abbott quality, financial, and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures
  • Accountable for publishing results and glide paths for Supply Chain KPI’s, like Customer Service, MRS conformance, MRS Stability, DOH

Cross-functional support

  • Working closely and communicating effectively with Plant at Jhagadia, Global Planning Center (ALOG), Distribution team, QA, Finance on issues pertaining to inventory, cost and quality and drive initiatives to positively influence operating working capital;
  • Building relationships throughout the extended Supply Chain – especially with Contract Manufacturers, Vendors, Warehouse & Packing Facility to optimize resources and manage costs;

Strategic Projects

  • Heading the Strategic Projects for Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain.

Minimum Education

Education Level

Major/Field of Study

BTech./ Post-Graduation (Supply Chain)

Graduate / Planning MBA/PGDBM with SCM specialization and exposure to Global Supply Chains & Demand– Operations ….MBAs / PGDMs preferred


Minimum Work Experience

Minimum 5 Years of relevant Exp

  • 5 to 7 years business experience with at least 2-3 years in Operations / Supply chain at an executive level. – Preferably in FMCG / Consumer Goods / Nutrition / Pharma
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams with varied functional/technical knowledge
  • Strong analytical capabilities. Ability to relate data to business situation.
  • Preferable experience in SAP / APO (or current equivalent integrated Global ERP/ supply chain planning systems)
  • Proficient in MS-Office. Advanced MS-Excel knowledge (macros etc)
  • Result-oriented and ability to follow through on committed tasks
  • High degree of self-management, personal organization skills and discipline
  • People Management skills
