Job Description
Role:
- To design and develop gear box housing (Aluminum casting) in automotive transmissions
Responsibilities:
- Lay-outing and packaging of transmission in vehicle
- Designing of gear box housing i.e. Modelling, Designer CAE & 2D
- Development of proto parts & tooled up parts by concurrent engineering with suppliers & Production engineering
- Analysis of CAE & testing failures/ market problem pertaining to gear-box housing
Competency requirement:
Technical/ Functional:
- CAD proficiency- Uni-graphics (mandatory)
- Designer CAE & analysis proficiency– Uni-graphics (mandatory)
- Understanding of Aluminum casting processes including HPDC, LPDC, GDC & sand casting
- Understanding of manual transmission sub-systems- gearbox, gear shift mechanism, synchromesh system
- Tolerance stack-up
- Project management using Gant chart & PERT techniques.
Specific expertise required for functional area:
- Preferably have work experience in an OEM
- Good driving skills
Educational Qualification:
- B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical
